Patrick Wolf veröffentlicht am 09.12.2011 eine neue EP mit dem Titel “Brumalia”, was übersetzt soviel wie “Wintersonnenwende” heißt. Auf der EP werden sich 6 Songs befinden. Einen davon hat Patrick Wolf gar auf seinem iPad geschrieben. Das Coverfoto der EP stammt von Patti Smith. Bereits im Juni veröffentlichte Patrick Wolf das Album “Lupercalia”.
Zu seiner EP, deren Titeltrack “Together” bereits auf Lupercalia zu finden war, sagt Patrick Wolf:
“The song ‘Together’ has been the highlight of the live shows over the last year, the audience reaction to this song has been totally inspiring, I always saw ‘Together’ as a song about two lovers reuniting in the dark rainy days around December. For the last few years I’ve been writing a song around Christmas time so I’ve written around these new songs, creating a winter EP entitled ‘Brumalia’ which translates as ‘festival of the shortest day’ and was the old winter solstice festival around 25th of December on the Roman calendar, so in a way it makes for a little brother or sister record to Lupercalia”
