ARTROCKER AWARDS 2011 NOMINEES READY THEMSELVES FOR BATTLE

Following on from last week’s announcement about the launch of the first-ever Artrocker Awards, which take place on Friday 2 December 2011 at XOYO in London, the bands up for awards have been giving their reactions to being nominated.
“It’s an honour to be nominated for the first Artrocker awards. Just a shame they didn’t have a best looking drummer award,” Bombay Bicycle Club – Band of the Year / Album of the Year / Single of the Year / Live Band of the Year Nominees
“This is a very exciting time for Battles. We have been working very diligently all year at paying homage to an album that, to say the least, we are all very proud of. To be recognized by Artrocker Magazine in the three categories of International Band of the Year, Album of the Year, and Video of the Year, and to share these nominations with such excellent company is not only an honor but an absolutely humbling experience in the wake of all of our efforts this year. As fans of the magazine, we would like to sincerely thank Artrocker and the Artrocker community for their acknowledgement of Battles in each nomination. We are truly grateful for your consideration,” Dave Konopka, Battles – International Band of the Year / Album of the Year / Video of the Year Nominees
“Getting nominated for Best Live Band in the Artrocker Awards is the icing on the cake for a brilliant year for The Jim Jones Revue. We’re also very excited at the prospect of destroying another London venue when we play the Artrocker Awards show!” The Jim Jones Revue – Live Band of the Year Nominees
“We are on tour in Japan right now as I am reading this!!! This is great news! Artrocker is one of the few last magazines that have integrity when it comes to its articles and writing. For us as music fans that is so important. So to be nominated for an award is a real honour for us! And I am not a**kissing here, because I don’t need to 🙂 Atari Teenage Riot says THANK YOU!” Alec Empire, Atari Teenage Riot – International Band of the Year / Live Band of the Year Nominees
“As a band that like to roam the lands of art and rock, it’s both natural, and a great honour, to be nominated for Band of the Year at the Artrocker Awards,” British Sea Power – Band of the Year Nominees
“We feel honoured and massively appreciative of our nomination for Best Video at the first-ever Artrocker Awards. It means a lot to be shortlisted by such a credible and passionate publication that has been a constant source of support for us and for many of our peers in the UK’s underground music scene. Thanks,” Kingsley, The Chapman Family – Video of the Year Nominee
“It’s damn hot for a band from wet Humberside to be considered for an Award from the uber leftfield love machine that is Artrocker Magazine. The Neat have always loved the mag, it’s Brill baby, so much love for championing our sound we are blissed-out over the nomination. Once again ta and you know dudes sometimes when you a throw a stone it never comes back,” The Neat – Best New Band: New Blood Nominees
“Thanks for nominating us! Art rock forever!” Ringo Deathstarr – Best New Band: New Blood Nominees
