MULL HISTORICAL SOCIETY – Songwriter Colin MacIntyre ist zurück

Nachdem Colin MacIntyre zwei Alben – The Water’ (2008) und ‘Island’ (2009) – unter seinem eigenen Namen veröffentlicht hat, erscheint im Februar dieses Jahres nun das erste Mull Historical Society Album seit 2005, gleichzeitig markiert 2012 das zehnjährige Jubiläum seines Debütalbums „Loss“.
„City Awakenings“ ist die erste Veröffentlichung von MacIntyre im Rahmen seines neuen Vertrages mit Xtra Mile Recordings (Frank Turner, Against Me, Dave Hause, etc)
Produziert von Grammy-Preisträger Dom Morley (Amy Winehouse, Mark Ronson, Grinderman) gibt es auf „City Awakenings“ zehn neue Kompositionen, das gesamte Album ist ein Tribut an Glasgow, London und New York, die Städte, die musikalisch und persönlich großen Einfluss auf den schottischen Songwriter hatten.
Hierzu MacIntyre selbst: “Cities have been an explosion of the senses to me”. “The songs are breezy pop, some are widescreen things, and some are more minimalist, punchy tales of finding yourself in the city, leaving them, arriving in them, burning them, living in them, and what its like for a child to see one of them for the first time. I remember that. They are mostly upbeat songs about people living their lives.”
